Susan Mohini Kane

North Star Voice is about the skill, value, and power of classical singing.  It’s about taking your singing in new directions with excellent training and  changing the world for the better through your abilities. North Star Voice encourages, promotes, and supports you in your efforts to make great music and to find your niche as a working singer.

My name is Susan Mohini Kane and I’m the founder of North Star Voice.  I’m a working singer, voice professor, and writer who lives in Pasadena, California, with my photographer husband, Bernie, and the cutest kitty in the world, Wiley.  I’m a meditator, hiker, skier, and academic geek who loves to play the ukulele! I hold degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Iowa and studied with Barbara Honn while completing my Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).

I’ve known so many inspiring singers who stopped singing just because they didn’t know the next step to take to make their singing great. Such a loss for all of us! Luckily, there are creative souls out there in the big world inventing new stages and uses for classical singing every day.  May North Star Voice help you find your own true north.
